I'm just curious. Did DP/Pt have all of the overworld sprites used for HG/SS already in the data? People are saying USM can't possibly have following Pokemon because the low-poly models in SM don't have proper textures. While looking at the past obviously can't effectively prove or disprove this point, I just wanna be clear on this part.

Sinnoh had that park in Hearthome City as a test run. HGSS was the real deal despite size inconsistencies. In a 3D game, it probably be limited. Heavy Pokemon wouldn't follow you indoors.

Big mons didn't follow you indoors in hgss either

Yeah, I remember that. I would imagine if USM had following Pokemon, they'd do something similar, having some Pokemon be too big to go indoors, and some little, slower Pokemon *cough*Rockruff would lag behind the player a bit, which could explain the trailer clip
Honestly this could go both ways, I'm feeling a 50/50 on it, but I'm just saying that "Rockruff is moving slower than the player" is the weakest argument against following Pokemon

Dude, they literally showed the trainer running moments after they showed the rockruff. There was no pokemon behind him, following ain't happening. 3ds is a shit weak system and it'll have to wait for switch.

There was this Player sprite modifier cheat code (in Platinum, don't know about DP), and if you went above a certain number there were indeed some overworld sprites like that big fat guy with back hair and a pink shirt or unused normal rotom objects (white) instead of the orange ones
No, it didn't, and the overworld sprites HGSS does recycle from DPPt stick out pretty bad

We have 2 scenes of no walking Pokemon and 1 scene of protagonist running with rockruff for 2 secs
Most likely no walking Pokemon

No.
