Look, I'm not saying you're completely wrong for thinking that Psychic/Rock makes sense. It even gets Rock moves by level up. But Necrozma is a light absorbing and refracting space monster, it more or less *doesn't* make sense.

If I had to shoehorn more reasons in, maybe it's made of "hard light" or some other sci-fi energy concept.

Mostly true but Rock/Grass, Rock/Bug, and Rock/Fighting are good.

Rock/Psychic is overall worse than the two types separately, but at least Prism Armor sort of mitigates the net gain of weaknesses.

Is that really any different than a wikipedia article that mentions animals in culture and folklore? Especially in the case of animals driven to near or total extinction due to supposed supernatural powers (such as the rhino and its horn)?

Ultimately though I agree with you, the games are largely "science" based (Pokemon having powers due to evolving to have them, reacting to 'radiation' and the like) but have a decent flexibility when it comes to the supernatural (ghosts and such).

Sound type is a deeply flawed idea. When you go assigning it to pokemon/moves you find they already fit other types better. Besides that most Sound moves are represented as Normal-special moves is fine as that is pretty much a good representation of sound as essentially non elemental- else think of Grass Whistle, Bug Buzz and whatever other moves you autists think should be sound- they are specifically derived from other more prominent traits so that they are sound based doesn't negate the fact they are produced by grass/a bugs wings etc.
