oras represented shift away from the old pixelated trash that was pokemon pre gen 6. Not only does it bring to the table the updated graphics that X and Y brought, but it literally replaces the old pixel trash (ruby/saphire) with the new enhanced graphics. So yeah, in a sense ORAS was a big middle finger to those that can't keep up and simultaneously it showed actual video gamers that pokemon isn't just an old fashioned franchise. Keep up to date or stop playing, pokemon isn't for you.
