The only mistake was not giving it a third version. There was so much potential with all the loose end locations like the other two power plants and the non-functional train station in couriway, as well as all the Zygarde stuff and the fact that they could easily finish the region by adding in Southern Kalos. Kalos was a really good start, with a pretty huge region, a great dex and actual decent routes and caves, and it's a shame they never expanded upon it.

Exactly this. Kalos was a fairly solid region, but could've used so much more. A third version could've fixed up the region, and then even spruced up the story and character customization.
