Shell Armor if anything is more of a flavorful ability for it. Stopping a crit after a smash wouldn't mean much when a strong neutral hit with your reduced defenses would still do a ton on your health.

While I do agree it should learn Shell Smash(because it needs SOMETHING. Why make a samurai and make it painfully generic in the end), Torrent would be more a prefered ability, as it will make it a high-risk, high reward sweeper.

Feraligatr is fine.
Meganium should get tralage and more support moves to give ut a niche in doubles.
Typhlosion needs more special moves.
Samurott should get le shell smash, sword moves and sniper or an ability that boosts blade moves.

Samurott really shouldn't get Shell Smash. I don't understand why people want it to get that move so bad, it barely fits thematically considering the other mons that get it. Not to mention how utterly broken it'd be. If shit like Blastoise isn't getting it, there's no way in hell Samurott is.

Because they don't cover its entire body. iirc, most Pokemon who get Shell Smash have some sort of covering around most, if not their entire body. The only exceptions to this are Huntail and Gorebyss and they can get it only from their pre-evolution.
