I have to ask, why is Serena so popular?

She does almost nothing for most of the show, her entire character revolves around her getting wet while thinking about Ash. Her reasons for wanting to go on a journey with Ash is stupid too, you met him years ago when you were really tiny and now you still remember him and want to fuck him.

Don't tell me that her cutting her hair is fucking deep character development, it's not, it's the most surface level change you can make to signify change without actually changing the character herself.

Ash never cared about her romantically, and we will never know how he felt about the kiss because Serena ran away before he could respond. The ship was one sided the entire time and that's all that fueled her character.
