Not really a fan of the Vanilluxe line but I really like how this guy views his designs. You can very clearly see that they have a lot of western influence and that's why they stand out so much, which makes some people consider them bad designs. But I really hope this guy keeps making new designs, i'm all in for more western Pokemon.

He designed two of my favorite Pokemon and my two favorite Ultra Beasts.

I really like all of these pokemon, funny enough my least liked one is Mandibuzz and Vullaby, All the others have held a special spot in my heart once or still do, like Guzzswole and Buzzlord.

The fact that he made sure Golurk was able to learn Fly as well as making its Japanese name a direct shout out to Giant Gorg puts him in a special place for me. Mandi, Trevenant, and Buzzwole are great as well.

Love all these designs. They are all original. And before people say "But there's a Ice cream Pokémon!" yes, yes there is. Is there more then one Icecream Pokémon line? No there isn't therefore it's original.

Sure Vanilluxe don't pull off the execution as well as Garbodor as being an objectmon, but I never hated it. Golurk and Mandibuzz are in my top Gen 5 mon definitely. Trevenant>Gourgeist, and Buzzwole is Buzzwole. Shame about Guzzlord though.

Braviary is far more likely to represent the Philippine Eagle, which has a similar crest, and makes sense with the colorscheme, which is Red, White, Blue and Yellow, which perfectly fits the Philippine Flag. The Philippine Eagle is also present on the Philippine coat of arms. I'd argue this makes much more sense than the contrived american bald eagle theory, as the colorscheme includes yellow very prominently on the tail section of Braviary.
Rufflet's Japanese name "Washibon" is even partly derived from the local name of the Philippine Eagle "haribon" (hari (king) + ibon (bird)), so yeah, definitely based on the Philippine Eagle. :)
