Venusaur's mega-evolution is okay in comparision to that. It's over-the-top, but in a way that makes it look cheap.

Gamefreak is shit, that's about it. Everyone knows that.
Venusaur in 3D is just fine. Every design can be done in 3D if you're competent and have time available. You can stretch the design and alter it a bit anyways, but that would require time and effort.
It's a company that knows it can do barely any wrong. It tries, however, by adding new concepts. Just sucks it's mostly half-assed.
