They mentioned in the reveal trailer that there are gonna be more mons avaliable in game, and the guidebook is over 120 pages longer compared to SM, and in the Gameinformer interview they mentioned they like to keep all pokemon obtainable in every generation to let new and modern players get them all

The only reason it was gone in the first place was probably because it was just rushed for time and now we're getting everything as intended

I don't even remember the names of any areas in Sun/Moon. There was that sandstorm desert with the old man who wanted to see Solrock/Lunatone which could be a cool place to put Regirock.

I seriously doubt all non mythical pokemon are going to be in Alola. Maybe in the next remake plus these two games, but that would be an insane amount of new pokemon for a third version
