I think the problem with SM is since there's no endgame in mind it feels like there's not much reason to watch it. For some odd reason the knowledge that there was a league at the end of every other saga, even knowing Ash would probably lose, gave you something to look forward to.

I do get the feeling they're setting themselves up for another rushed finale arc again. There is going to be a lot more filler for the rest of the year, then it may/may not slow down by the end when they'll have to transition into the next series. At the same time, SM is not really setting up any high expectations for what to expect in future episodes.

Seriously, and with the clusterfuck that is SM, not everyone can fill your action girl quota...leave that to Suiren instead (even if it's not relevant at all with the actual setting).

All Lillie has going for her so far is her phobia of pokemon, otherwise she's basically a background character. I know she'll get the most focus by the end, but I don't get why people think Lillie is handled any better.

Lillie should have just been a recurring character like she is in the games. She'd appear every 10 episodes or so like the rivals do in the anime, she didn't really need to be on the cast. Sophocles of course was a terrible idea from the start.

If I were to make an SM group it would have been Ash, Mallow, Lana and Kiawe. A perfect 4-man group where you have two girls and the male companion, and Lillie would appear like a recurring character during her plot point episodes.

Since xy fags are so desperate for SM to be like their season; I believe the group should had been Lillie/Kiawe/Ash. Probably have Lillie already on the run and living with kukui. Do an entire arc of Ash doing bullshit in the first island, and exploring kukui and ashs relationship. Lillie joins him at the end to the next island.
