Oranguru is built for doubles, but it is entirely usable in singles. Don't listen to >>33370507 shittin' ya.

It has nice natural bulk (90/80/110) and a typing which it can use to set up Calm Minds or Nasty Plots better than other Psychic types. You have a lot of offensive options too: Psychic, Psyshock, Stored Power, Nature Power (Tri Attack), Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Energy Ball, and Focus Blast.

If you choose to run it with a singles Trick Room build, Inner Focus is great so the opponent can't stall out turns with Fake Out. You could even use it to set up Psychic Terrain if you don't like using Lele or are playing in lower tiers.

It's abilities (aside from Inner Focus) are Doubles oriented, and so is his signature move Instruct. It's got decent bulk and an ok support movepool. But it's predictable as hell. It kinda lacks power too.

I used one back in VGC and it did a decent job at supporting Pokemon under TR. It's only really thanks to Instruct though.

It's pretty much the worst fully evolved Alola mon in singles (or Psychic Oricorio).

In doubles it's pretty good though. If anything needs the auto TR ability it's this guy.

I like it. Normal/Psychic Pokemon are relatively rare so I don't mind seeing another one. However, it is outclassed by Meloetta in terms of offense so you have to use it as a support mon. Thankfully this Pokemon is decent in Doubles. Not good but decent. So it has a niche, albeit a small one.

Even if you discount Meloetta, Girafarig is better due to Sap Sipper and Nasty Plot.

I like it_. Good bulk, normal to prevent ghost damage, best trick room setter imo.

I have a trick room team. while I could use an inner focus for obvious reasons, I prefer Telepathy so I can spam instruct surf and earthquake with no concerns.

I don't use it for singles, so I wouldn't know the answer to your question.
