Actually, Braixen is the best Kalos starter. Any opposing opinion is objectively, metaphysically, subjectively, metaphorically, and truly incorrect. You cannot go wrong with Braxien. It is a deliberate attempt to emulate the true potential of character design, perhaps one of the most successful attempts to ever succeed the barrier between idealism and realism. You cannot oppose Braixen. There is nothing wrong with it.

I hated it during its reveal, it just looked clumpy, but looking back at Kalos' European castles, fairies and forests thing, Chesnaught fits nicely and its anime appearances have made it look more competent. Delphox fits too but its in-game model is intolerable.

Greninja in comparison looks like some sort of immigrant that got in the starter trio to fill a diversity quota.

It's an unfortunate reality, and being in a trio with Froakie and Fennekin only makes it worse.

I hate it because its design is awkward as fuck and its 3D model is garbage. I get what they were going for with the tanky armadillo but they executed it completely wrong.

I hated it at first but I still picked chespin. I ended up hating it even more because it became a weight. It has now grown on me thanks to fanart with more dynamic poses. Both official artwork and in game model have that lame pose that makes it look stupid.
Still I think it should have been /steel, with a fighting STAB ability like steelworker maybe

Except, it kinda does. That's why Venusaur give birth to baby Bulbasaur, and a ton of Pokemon can't breed until they reach a certain evo stage. Most Pokemon evolve via experience, which is presumably gained by "training." In the wild, training is just them doing their natural thing—hunting, playing, swimming, sparring, etc. (Which is why one might find something like, say, an old, experienced Shiftry leading a clan of Nuzleaf.) Human trainers just help them achieve this faster. First stage Pokemon that still haven't evolved after a extended time are often looked down on by other Pokemon in some way, shape, or form due to their stunted growth. Such Pokemon may reach "old age" before they evolve, but this is rarely IF EVER touched on. Stone, friendship, and other such evolutions are the only odd cases.

GF, TPC, or whoever tf didn't really put much thought into this, because kids couldn't care less. It's an issue that comes with still having adult fans; we're the only ones who subconciously care to try to make logical sense out of this stuff and/or justify our reasons for still liking a kids franchise.
