If you mean Oranguru, it's very decidedly a doubles Pokémon
It was absolutely massive in early VGC 2017 (November-December 2016) but fell out of favour a bit later on.
It's a great trick room setter and Instruct is handy to get more attacks from a more powerful ally off (especially Torkoal and Gigalith)

It was used in one of the World Championsip finals (I think seniors?) with a Gigalith partner.
