Honestly, I don't hate it anymore, and I miss parts of it. I feel like the region, story, and main gameplay were just executed badly, despite having good ideas.

I was the best main version in my opinion, but shit compared to some remakes and third versions, not their fault tho, I believe a third version would make Gen VI GOAT, but I still don't know why GF skipped it.

The best thing about XY is that its a game of options

Wanna do monorun? You have at least few options for each type
Wanna do nuzlocke? Wonderlocke?
Wanna play "region" themed run? You have few option for each of the 6 regions
Wanna have super easy game? Play with exp share.
Wanna have more challening run? Turn it off and dont grind
Maybe you wanna use a rotatting team with lets say 12 mons instead of 6? With exp share its possible

This just makes the game tedious, instead of challenging. It also doesn't fix the issue of NPCs often having weak movesets on their Pokemon.

XY is great with options otherwise, but it can't provide a challenging main game.

I like BW. DP is bad but I still think XY is worse. ORAS is my most hated game but I think trying to judge it on what it is and not what it isn't it also ends up better than XY, since a butchered RSE is still based on RSE.
