For Pokemon games, they don't tend to censor things, but I guess pokemon and humans marrying each other was rephrased in the english versions of the sinnoh library

The vulpix and meowth may just be walking around in the cage and not always in the cutscenes. Or it could be a thing where the cages could practically have any wild Pokémon and you collect them.
