Because Game Freak cares about normie children buying the game so it just has to have good marketing and kids will buy it.

It's just that all the signs are pointing towards a 2018 Release.

As long as it's not rushed, I don't fucking care WHEN it comes out. Just don't give us a shitty, rushed game. If it comes out next year and it's great, then that's great. If it comes out in 2019 and it's great, then that's great. But if it comes out next year because it's rushed and shit, then GameFreak needs to fix their shit.
Even if it is rushed I'll buy it, and I'm sure plenty of you would too.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see Gen 8 in 2019. They could easily do Gen 4 remakes to fill the gap, what with some features previously seen in Gen 4 having similarities with some of the new ones in USUM (Photo Studio looks a lot like the Dress-Up part of Contests, limited Pokemon following being usable for Amity Square, et cetera.)

I don't think outright denying the possibility is an argument. Game Freak has to port the current engine or possibly even develop a new one from scratch for the Switch. A remake is a good way to make a quick profit in the meantime... though I can't say I wouldn't prefer DP remakes to be on the Switch.

If it's "Rushed" after 3 years, something is wrong. I don't mean that they are being unproductive, but that they are likely engrossed in experimental features and aesthetics rather than what is needed.

The later gens suffer from this. The content and mapping is rather small compared to what is actually packed into it, and to make up for this you are dragged along at a snail's pace through the game. It feels like rush hour in Atlanta.

Sometimes new features are nice, and streamline the games in very neat ways, but goddamn did the beginnings of SM and XY feel like molasses.

UBs? The zoroark movie didn't have new mythicals, so they could do one on Necrozma/Lunaala/solgaleo/UBs.
