It'll be worth the wait, anon. Far better than rushing out a new gen. Holiday 2019 would be a fantastic release business-wise. Maybe coupled with Metroid Prime 4, though that might not come out until 2020.

If Pokemon Doesn't come out next year Switch is going to get raped.

Nintendo already lost Monster hunter, used both mario and Zelda this year, Splat was also used this year, Metroid won't be ready until 2019 (being possitive), the only thing left is AC and that thing won't light a candle aganist Sony's 2018 lineup, Pokemon is a Must at this point.

Switch could definitely benefit, but I don't think it'll be necessary. Yoshi, Fire Emblem, and Kirby are a good exclusive lineup so far. Animal Crossing would be useful though, definitely. And MAYBE we'll get the MHXX port west-side, but I'm doubting it.

I didn't mean it could even come close to beating Sony, I just meant that the Switch would be fine itself. Nintendo STILL hasn't announced anything for later than the first few months, so we can vaguely hope for something like Smash Bros.
I don't think Nintendo will try to release a particularly strong first party to compete next year. I think instead they're going to push out some weaker series mixed with relatively well-received series. Maybe Mario Party, for example?

Hmm... I honestly can't really think of any other exclusives they could push out. Pokemon would help, but it sounds from the GameInformer interview like they're still really early in development.
I guess they might shit out a spin-off game or two to temporarily satisfy Pokemon fans? I don't know of any other system sellers they could push, truth be told.
On a somewhat related note, really hoping Sucker Punch announces a new inFAMOUS game at the PSX to add to the 2018 lineup.

I'd rather those on a two screen system to retain the feel and gimmicks, but Sun/Moon barely even use the touch screen so those would make more sense.

If USM is a good game, that's no problem. What made 2015 lame was that I hated ORAS so I couldn't even fill time with repeat playthroughs.

Plus this gives people more time to get Switches so there will be a bigger player base.

Come to think of it, they could make some more fresh IPs like ARMS. ARMS wasn't quite as well received as their other IPs, but it has a lot of potential. Adding new fighters and arms frequently.
A new IP, multiplayer or singleplayer, could be great.
