Simply put, Guzzlord's stats are a mess.

It has high HP, but piss poor defenses negate it.

It's offenses are also mediocre.

Basically, it has a great typing, but horribly distributed stats.

Redditors will spout "le flambebe used le draining kiss" but that's not what makes Guzzlors shit. Dragon/Dark is great offensive typing and is decent defensively.
Guzzlord's main problem is it's stat distribution. It's defenses are too low to be a wall, it's offenses are too low to wallbreak, it's speed tier is shit, and to top it off it has no recovery.

This refers back to reliable recovery. It has rest but with its common weakneses, it just doesn't have much opportunity to "waste" 2 turns like that.
It has a lot of things, but sadly just doesn't do any of them well at all.

Bulu certainly wouldn't. Koko might.
Bulu's Grassy Terrain boosted Wood Hammers hit as hard as a Super Effective Play Rough would. The only relevant Dragon in OU that'd actually take more damage from Play Rough than Wood Hammer and isn't weak to Stone Edge is Latios, who still dies to an unboosted Bloom Doom in Grassy Terrain.
