By this logic everything in the anime is a waste of time since once a new saga starts everything from the previous one is cast aside or basically ignored. It doesn't matter of course, people still enjoy the events of an individual saga even if the next one moves on. Same reason people like past stuff from OS, AG, DP, etc. as well, not just XY.

I wish they made a short mini-series at around 13 episodes or so showing a teenage Ash/Serena going out with Ash also entering the Champion league. That way it can be closure to Ash's character as well as Amour, while the regular anime continues to use Ash forever.

If there's a demographic that is still going strong, it is the Ash x Misty fans, they actually have more strength and depth over Serena.

I'm gonna guess it'll be PM66, "An Iwark Binvouac"/"Snow Way Out". It's an episode she's mentioned really liking a number of times, and the movie does adapt it. See chapter 5 of the manga.

You know, I always wondered why Serena made that pouty face at the end of XY7. It was after Serena gave Ash the cookies and she was explaining why she did, then it cut to him choking on them.
