Im starting to do some drawings of my favourite pokemon/current team but I thought itd be cool to have them holding/wearing whatever items Ive given them in-game.
The problem is, some items look retarded and almost useless in game, like how are you supposed to hold them? Hold them in one hand and fight with the other? What about 'mons with no hands?
Just want to see what the general concensus is regarding items - whats your head-canon for them?
I image the wide lense to be something like pic related.
You cannot tell what item a Pokémon is carrying by appearence, it must be frisked or knocked off.
Items in the team menu appear as little orange pouches next to your party member.
Ergo, Pokémon hold their items in opaque bags, pouches and satchels and use them naturally, or accordingly when the time is right.

>You cannot tell what item a Pokémon is carrying by appearence
yeah, I know that you mean in game, but tecnically this not can be so hard for the programmers

That makes sense, though for an artistic viewpoint it seems better if each pokemon is 'wearing' their item like the mega stones in the XY anime - they had a unique harness/accessory.
Unless you add in a utility belt for each pokemon, it would look a little strange

That picture is exactly the kind of idea I mean.
Purely as a fan-art kinda thing, this is what I want to do.
Some items just need a more realistic design or someway of being possible AKA holding a flame orb or soft sand etc.

- Greninja holding a Focus SashBonus Point if the Focus Sash is tied on Greninja's tongue
- Koko Loko holding a Life OrbBonus Point if it isn't holding it with its arms
Cute idea OP, something like this?

I like to think for mons with no hands item is tied around them in some way like a necklace or headband. Don't ask me how something like a wild ditto can hold quick/metal powders though, no human to tie it on them.
>>33284228
Ditto just absorbs it
>>33284210
Maybe not quite happy-rapey-fun-time but yeah, more or less like that.
>>33284240
No, it just transforms into a Ditto not holding an item.

He says according to game logic they could probably carry items in little pouch/satchel bags.
Ditto powders are already pictured in a little bag so just get ditto to somehow morph around it or something
