Gen 3, specifically Emerald. There's so much to do and explore. Platinum was also great on the exploration game, but I prefer Emerald.

Gen VII because it killed this franchise.

Emerald is the only game I still have that I haven't wiped the save data to play again. I've done literally everything except get the gold Frontier symbols, and I'm pretty damn proud of it.
