There probably hasn't been any due to the series being first and foremost for kiddos.

I can see in a future game you eventually getting, let's say, one of four assistants to permanently accompany you on your journey, and which one joins you depends on diologue trees / how often you helped them out with sidequests. If you're actively trying to be an asshole, then it's also possible that none of them join you.
