None of them are "functional", since they have no heightmap and are often simply lacking textures and warps. The only "interesting" things to be found with noclip are the actually mapped rooms in the player's home and the blocked off path in altar of the sunne/moone. The other stuff is literally unmapped nothingness, only things that are hinted at that should exist.

To be honest, a lot of the images posted in these threads are misleading. Both the golf course and that area in Paniola ranch (and maybe more of the images in this thread) are visible in the final game, they're just not accessible because they're not supposed to be. Sometimes there's more level geometry beyond what the camera can see but that's pretty normal and not an indication that those areas were supposed to be used.

Several of the unused doors and caves are properly flagged as door entrances, even though they don't go anywhere.

I have this theory that during S/M 's development they already had in mind that they would release an alternate universe game and so they purposely left all this blocked paths and areas you cannot access because they will help you understand how different the two games are, a blocked are on S/M will be open on US/UM, as well as having some of S/M 's areas blocked on US/UM, of course I may just be a retarded delusional GF shill trying to justify their mistakes, so just take it with a grain of salt.

When you scrap an idea, you completely remove it from the game. It's OK to leave it in the games file, but shit like pic related is unacceptable. Don't make branches in the path if you can't let the player go this way, it's misleading and retarded, just make the path go straight to the stairs, maybe you'll see how fucking bland your overworld is.

It never happened before in pokemon, and I don't know of any game of the same caliber that ever did this, by that I mean subtly implying there's more to the game than what you're allowed to see.

Not to mention all of the closed doors, and even fucking textured doors you find in the game.

In a way, I hope this is the case. Not because I think Sun/Moon should've been rushed out the door and that I think paying for a Beta is ok, but because the game is so unfinished that I hope they expand on a lot of shit that they could've to make a more complete game like B2W2.

Deleting code completely is retarded. You might use it later. You might break it trying to remove data. You might not have the time to perfectly polish areas or content cut during development. You might remove the code and the producers come back saying they actually want that content included. It's far easier and less time consuming to put objects in the way over the mess and risks that come with deleting. Maybe if the games weren't forced out annually, the devs would have more time to make a polished, clean product.

Saying it never happened before is also bullshit. There are similar instances in other games. The most common block is a impassable door or a wall that looks different.

Not to defend SM and GF, but you're making a big deal out of nothing.
