I'm going after a Jangmo-o in a Love Ball, but no one wants to trade it for anything reasonable, so I'm breeding Eevee-Ekans-Jangmo-o.
Breeding in S&M mostly sucks, but the changes to ball inheritance were fantastic.

An anon from the previous thread said the same thing. Guess my HG will truly be a gimmick game, but then again, it's full odds/SC hunting or nothing. When the Gen 2 games come out with the Ditto method, that may change things as far as the first two gens, so that manipulation may or may not be in consideration as well.

I think Im pretty much done shiny hunting. Im a strict MM-er and GameFreak totally buttfucked the rates in Sun and Moon. I had NO problem getting shinies in X without a Charm. Like, my max was 20-30 boxes without a shiny, and I eventually ended up with 12-15 MM shinies from that game. Ive gone over120 boxes in Sun, and gotten 1 (ONE) Christ fucking shiny. Its fucking ridiculous. MMing was one of my favoring parts of these games, and this shit has just totally killed my motivation. I went 5000 resets for a Ho-oh in Heart Gold, so dont even tell me I dont have patience. They fucked with the shiny rates in Sun and Moon, and its disgusting.

I mentioned in the last thread that probably any of the hexaperfect seven male parents (don't even have to be hex) + the female you're breeding with = shortest time for a shiny, and when I took the parents out and put them back in, I got another shiny not too long after, but it definitely appears to be fixed somehow since shit is appearing for the 3rd shiny.

I mean, FS is pretty based. MM is a secondary in Gen 6, mostly for first-stage and single-stage forms since competitive isn't all that anyway, unless you're into that.

I usually play two/three games at once while watching anime or a TV series, listen to music, or have a drink. Anything you have to kill time with is very resourceful since you may be in a long hunt.

Most stuff I'd want to hunt can be hunted in recent games. I might give Colo another shot, but i have no idea what i'd even go for. Everything before you get the master ball is orders harder to hunt, due to not knowing if it's shiny without catching, and past that, most are walled off by like 2-3 fights before you can try.

Currently got three DS's lined up simultaneously hunting Giratina in Platinum, any shiny starter in Soul Silver, and Type: Null in Sun.

I'm like 1500 sr's in on this shiny starter and it still hasn't shown. Once I get past the 50/50 chance of having already gotten the shiny, I just get exasperated. Hope it shows up soon, I wanna start playing Soul Silver already.

Well, there's only one in the game so I guess I want it to be as close to ideal if I'm going to keep it. Not a big deal.

SOS chaining for a shiny Bagon on and off for 3 days now. I feel like I'll get the 1% Salamance before the shiny. Before someone asks, no I don't have the Shiny Charm. I like the challenge of Shiny hunting without it.

I've finished emerald and am currently shiny hunting in it. However, I read a lot about its RNG being messed up. Does it only affect SR or RE's as well?

The rng will never change. If you were to mash through the opening as fast as possible and Sweet scent ASAP, you would ALWAYS get the same exact pokemon. IV's, natures, HP type, all of it would be the same, assuming you hit THE earliest possible frame every time. You can shiny hunt via RE's, but if you keep turning the game off and resetting, that heightens the odds that you will hit frames you've hit before.

As for SR, don't even think about it. Due to that RNG never changing, the only way to hunt is to encounter the legendary, run, run OUT of the room, come back, and encounter again.

The busted RNG can be abused for many shinies, however, I got like 4 boxes full of shinies by doing this, though many here frown upon it

Depends on your Secret ID. Shiny frames change every savefile, my earliest one is 70 seconds from the moment i SR. They should be, on average, 1 every 8192 frames, but you can manage to get more or less, obviously.

Ruby/Sapphire have working RNG, but only if the internal battery is still active. If it's dead, it works just like Emerald. Emerald's RNG will forever be busted, though.

Well, i have a shiny frame 70 seconds and 110 seconds in. It's not the sort of thing you'd know of in normal gameplay. If you don't want to exploit it, hunt in the other games.

Karp Swap. Since going for a nidoking specifically isn't a guaranteed thing, I run through magikarps, and swap it out for something else if female (hence the ponyta)

Shiny rate is the same as last gen. The only thing that changed is that frames are advanced by accepting and rejecting eggs instead of advancing automatically over time, and that can fuck you over by jumping over a patch of shiny frames, but that doesn't necessarily make it harder to hatch shinies overall, it's still down to luck.

Personally I've had exactly the opposite experience for the most part; I have every single gen 7 shiny except Type: Null and I don't think I ever went longer than three or four days between shinies this gen (granted I have no life and do nothing but shiny hunt, but still). I did end up swapping out fifteen shiny male Salandit for other Pokemon before I finally gave in to the cardinal sin of RNG abuse to get a shiny female, but I never claimed Game Freak gave Salandit a 1% female ratio because the odds didn't work out in my favor.

There are people who've played several hours a day every day since gen 2 and haven't seen a single non-scripted shiny, by your logic the code in their games must be different from the people with metric fuckloads of shinies because their luck was different. Obviously you know that's ridiculous, but so is insisting they lowered the shiny rate when it's factually proven to not be the case.

My current hunt is Mareep, and my last shiny had to be Shaymin.
I do most traditional ways and for tougher hunts sometimes abuse rng.
I got the charm in January.

I'm missing a ton of legends from full (regular) dex. That's pretty much it. I mean I need to finish the tapus and the UBs. That's pretty much how it goes with me, I want to catch good ones, and then I never do. Same thing happened with AS.
