It's not the digital animation, it's the oversaturated colours. Except for Best Wishes' horrendous art all around. How many times do we need to discuss this?

I REALLY miss the muted palette of the old watercolor backgrounds. People who defend the saturated nuclear greens and blues of the new shows don't know what they're talking about. It's an animation faux-pas to have BGs that fight with the foreground for attention.

Yeah I agree, Pokemon looked better when it had the dull effect to the animation. I didn't keep up with kalos at all till the end so I was blown away by how bright and poppy the colors were

Every season has such a god awful color palette. XY in particular, felt like it was raping my eyes.
At least it makes sense to have poppy colors in Alola, since it's a beach and all.

I genuinely enjoy the oversaturated colors more. I do think the older pics are comfier, but something about super bright and vibrant colors just feels more exciting and fun. I don't see how one is supposed to be objectively worse than the other.
