i think its following bw2 more becasue of the 2 games thing and the game looks different has appers to have new locations unlike the lack of new places plat had. The games look different from sm like bw2 was from bw. They even remixed the wild theme

It's a shame it won't be as good as Platinum, though. It's not just new legendary pokemon that made Platinum such a good game.

I don't think we're getting Tapu Therians. I think we're getting Z-Beasts. You can use your new Z-ring to transform UBs, and Nihilego's fused form will be one of them.

It's just following Platinum's pattern in Alternate Forms. But I do agree it is following B2W2 in terms of two games and altered locations. A new wild theme is like how they produced 8 gym interior themes in B2W2 which really gave B2W2 a nice touch.
