I suspect they'll just remove the filter from SM, in terms of battles.

Check 1080p footage of SM in Citra with no lines patch and that's pretty much what I'm expecting.

I think the games look better without cell shading. You can't really improve cell shading. Mabye their will be an option in the games for adding or removing lines

There are lots of ways to improve cel-shading, it's just not that common these days. GF bothered to go for a unique cel-shaded look, so I hope they take it further.

Not that I expect them to with those shitty bloom effects SM added that broke the celshading for many Pokemon, and removing the day/night lighting in battle.

It'll be somewhere between Battle Revolution without shaders and DQ8, I'd reckon.

It's to try and emulate the look of the official art, there's more to cel-shading than just edge marking which is all Smash uses. But okay.

I think SM's "improved lighting" just makes the game look worse. In general simpler lighting works better for video games. Ocarina of Time vs OoT3D is a great example.
