Game Freak didn't make any of the models though, Creatures Inc. made them

However, Creatures Inc. also future-proofed them and didn't optimize them for the 3DS, making them way too high-poly for the 3DS to be comfortably handle more than a few on-screen at a time.

Man I really and truly hope that USM is the BW2 of this generation, in that it adds more content than the players deserve despite all their bitching. Then they will never make another content-heavy, improved third version ever again because of all of the bitching when USM was first announced. Each series' evil team arc is around 7-8 episodes long, and airs at the last year of its run. And if Akala is anything to go by, Ash will only stay on each island for the trial and the battle against a Tapu, before returning to Melemele for more filler.
