I think it has a good chance of coming back this time since they already have the concept built up in the Battle Tree,

It wouldnt even be that much work on GF's part to bring it back since teams and dialogue are already set from BW2, they just have to make models for a few of the regions

It's also the first "third or enhanced version" since BW2 came out, so it's the first time they had the time to implement things like this again instead of making full gens and remakes from scratch

Impossible, GF is not making +50 new models for everyone or updating teams to include megas and stuff.

At best you will get Lance and a few more on battle tree, which will never be as good as PWT.

It's not that huge a task

They made over 80 for Sun/Moon as it is, and that's on top of them designing the whole region and new pokemon, which they dont have to do now
plus they can future proof them like they did for the Pokemon models

And they already did that for BW2, they redid every single overworld model from scratch for all the characters despite them stil existing from HGSS/Platinum

As for teams, it's a lot less work for them to add gen 7 updated teams to the existing characters than building a whole new facility of randoms, at worst they can just copy paste gen 1-5s from BW2 and update Kalos and Alola

Make the PWT the highlight of the plot, make it the reason Kukui wants to build the league in the first place, go full shonen with it, and let us interact with the characters more outside, all over Alola like they're all on vacation

I want it them to incorporate some mode for us to battle the gym leaders in chronological order, starting from Brock and going until the Trial Captains

Let us build teams and share them online via QR code or something, and save them, let us host our own tournaments online

If it's not it's own place, then incorporate play styles from the battle Frontier facilities like the Palace, Arena, Factory. Pike and Pyramid should be their own place though

Ones that arent gym leaders/champions should join in the fun like Eusine, Frontier Brains, Hugh, N, Zinnia, AZ, the DP companions, Elite 4, etc.

Give us more to the actual area, like move tutors, a day care, etc. make it a one stop postgame hub, maybe make it like a huge modern resort to fit in Alola more

A lot of the work for modeling would be texture sheets, assuming they don't have costume updates/redesigns in mind and that can be handled by hiring guest artists to do the concepts while GF streamlines said redesigns if they wanted to go that route.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing the likes of Horikoshi, Urushihara, Inomata or Nomura draw trainer costume concepts but GameFreak nor Nintendo is that ambitious.

Most of the early gen 1 Sugimori art resembled Toriyama's style so it would be neat to bring it full circle and have him come on to sketch a few

PWT fits this games story more than it did for Bw2, it ties directly into what Kukui's dream is when he builds the League, since he wants Alola and it's trainers to be recognized all over the world

Maybe in USUM, Alola is chosen to be the site of the next PWT (Gamefreak mentioned that they chose Hawaii for the region partially because the World Championships are held there often)

This is what prompts Kukui to build the League in the first place, to prepare Alola for the event by anointing their first Champion

Supposedly the 3DS hardware supports up to 8gb carts, but I don't think they even exist anywhere in a physical form, SM so far is the biggest game and it comes in a 4gb cart.

They do that because default New 3DS SD cards are 4 gigs, they want kids to be able to buy a brand new system and then just download games outright without having to buy an SD card

However they are willing to toss that rule aside if need be since "Old" 3DS cards were only 2 gig, and Sun/Moon pushed way past that at 3.2

So far, no 3ds games have really needed to go past the 4 gb mark but I can see USUM doing it since "third version" games are meant for a more hardcore audience and the fact the Switch is out now, so most kids are playing that, therefore, since this is the 3DS's final hurrah there's no real need to hold on to the file size limit for convenience

You can't even just be too young to know this. You'd have to be a fetus to not, for example, remember tutors coming back in OR/AS but NOT X/Y (which basically required no additional work because it would be mostly a copy paste from the last game that used it) doesn't even ring a bell.

Even though it was a thing they could've easily done in X/Y because they had before, they didn't.

Not to mention games aren't released the moment they're done because marketing and manufacturing.

They were likely working on these a couple months before S/M released, in other words. They aren't just sitting around doing nothing in between finishing the current game and the launch date.

I work for a game development company too, so don't even bother trying to argue about this. I knew this was a thing even before I spent the better part of a decade doing it. You'll only prove your own ignorance in doing so.

I think Akala Island could be a good spot to do it
They could expand the Royal Avenue to be a Battle Frontier/PWT venue

Meanwhile outside we see all the characters staying at Hano Grand Resort and chillin at the beach and other spots around the island

Misty/Wallace/Marlon/etc. could be encountered at Tide Song Hotel

Blaine/Flannery/etc. could be seen at Wela Volcano

Whitney can be at Paniola Ranch

etc.
