TURN INTO THIS?
>>

With its fangs
>>
>>33239254
By eating ants.
>>
Like many other insects the Antlion is a larval stage, which a is a specialized fetus that survives in a different environment as not to compete for the same food as the adults forms. When it has grown enough is creates a cocoon to let it's body liquify into a protein soup, save for a few special nerve systems, that uses said soup to grow into it's adult form.

Antlions are ground dragons.
>>
>>33239356

You could make that argument for Trapinch and Vibrava, but Flygon is clearly a reptile, it no longer has any insect-like traits other than the maybe the wings.
>>
>>33239370
i just realized there is no bug dragon though
>>
>>33239332
What's the evolutionary pressure to liquify yourself for an extended period of time?

Not the eyes?
>>
>>33239395
It has goggles, not compound eyes.

No because the red things are just covers to keep sand out of its eyes. Organic goggles, basically.

It has regular eyes underneath.
>>

I wasn't thinking that they were compound, just weird for a reptile. Good enough for me, though.

larvae undergo liquefying changes inside of a pupa and reconstruct their molecular DNA giving them a new body. This is basic biology.

>>
>>33239393
I imagine it's the fastest way to completely change your body's structure. Think of a cocoon as a second egg, and the larva inside becomes the yolk and white.
>>
>>33239395
You mean https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nictitating_membrane
>>
>>33239605
Yes, the entire line evokes bugs and is based directly on an insect, but they're not Bug types. And that's OKAY.

Flygon is a dragon, so it's Dragon type. And they could've made it Bug but they chose not to, because Flygon is supposed to be the spirit of the Desert or whatever. Trapinch buries in sand, and the whole line is sort of inseparable from the element of Earth. It represents deserts in general.

So, while Vibrava is blatantly a bug, Trapinch and Flygon were both intentionally designed to LOOK like bugs without actually being insects. Flygon has things that look like antennae, insect wings and compound eyes, but none of it is actually real.
>>
>>33239356
Shit I meant Bug/Dragon or Bug/Ground
>>
>>33239762
>and that's OKAY
This is the #1 line SJWs say
>>
>>33239666
Makes sense, but why would an animal adapt to liquifying itself? Surely there's no way that it would partially evolve this as a feature. I mean, can you imagine a halfway point between metamorphosis and not metamorphosis? It's just turning yourself into soup for no reason.

I guess I could see it if the animal somehow changed form without turning into soup beforehand and then the cocoon comes later to speed up the process, but that still doesn't explain how an animal will just randomly halfway through its life decide to grow a pair of wings. I still can't really see how a half of a cocoon makes sense 2bh.

Not trying to derail the thread by the way
>>
>>33239579
If sound type ever became a thing, I think flygon and vibrava should be retyped to ground/sound. (Pokedex entries give you a good idea of why)
>>
>>33239817
Simple. The larva hatches without the necessary energy to grow to its final form, and the process of changing into that final form takes a tremendous amount of energy. So the larva collects energy (eats) and when it has enough energy for the transformation it creates a second "egg" for itself to develop in.
>>
>>33239817
It could also be a genetic mutation that took off. As in, "there are better ways of doing it" but a mutation started things along that path first and the insects that adapted that mutation survived longer so it just stuck around.
>>
>>33239666
I wonder, if they keep the same memories as before. I imagine liquefying almost everything then re-forming means you don't.
>>
>>33239256
The two biggest goofs gamefreak made with Flygon was a) not giving it four wings, and b) switching its name from Salamence to Flygon at the last minute.
>>
>>33239850
That's assuming insects can store memories to begin with. They almost certainly do not have a consciousness.

Have you people ran out of things to get mad about?
>>
>>33239860
Well, obviously. I know insects probably can't.
>>
>>33239876
It's SJW because SJWs are concerned about stepping on other's feelings dumbass. Connect the dots. Although at this point I wouldn't even remotely be surprised if you're a fat white oppressed woman.
>>
>>33239878
The goo it returns too probably remembers some "biological memories" but the blueprint it has for building the next body is probably passed down through thousands of years and "remembered" as a relic.
>>
>>33239813
What? How?
>>
>>33239850
I think they proved butterflies retain some sort of memory based on stimuli they experienced in the larval stage.

How do you even survive in the real world when innocuous phrases like that trigger you?
>>
>>33239911
Idk, I've just heard a lot of tards in that division say that. SJWs are concerned about equality and other people's feelies, even if their sense of equality is biased, so they say stupid shit like that. Like "and that's okay." Normies don't care about saying redundant shit like "and that's okay."
>>
>>33239925
Maybe you should go outside and see how many people say and reason with the words "and that's okay." Then you'll realize how stupid you sound and how much of a backbone you lack.
>>
>>33239942
Holy fuck

Are you autistic?
>>
>>33239762
I agree with this. Not every animal that "should be x type" must actually be that "x" type.
Being able to take real counterparts of nature and change them to another type with a bit of imagination is the reason we can have a ground hippopotamus, a fire-rock snail, a ground crocodile, etc.

Funny thing is, the same people who whine about Flygon not being bug type are probably the same fags who then cry about most water types being blue and most fire types being red.
>>
>>33239942

For someone telling others they lack a backbone, you sure seem lacking one yourself by getting triggered this badly over a fucking word.
>>
>>33239953
Autism has to with a lack of human expression. Which is literally the opposite of what our conversation is about dumbass. Another redundant point made by the SJW in the thread, I'm starting to think you aren't a SJW you're just retarded.
>>
>>33239969
>and that's OKAY!
>>
>>33239850
They do, but it's basic stimuli memory.
>According to research from 2008, adult Manduca sexta is able to retain behavior learned as a caterpillar. Another caterpillar, the ornate moth caterpillar, is able to carry toxins that it acquires from its diet through metamorphosis and into adulthood, where the toxins still serve for protection against predators.

>Many observations[when?] have indicated that programmed cell death plays a considerable role during physiological processes of multicellular organisms, particularly during embryogenesis and metamorphosis.

>>33239908
They don't return to complete goo, it's a controlled death that leaves behind a small nervous system and specialized cells that use the goo to become the adult form.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWbF90-DOts
>>
>>33239860
I think what he meant is if we could consider that the new form is still the "same" insect, or the previous larvae kinda died in the liquefy process to use the bio-mass to create a new life. It's a bit like the teleporting-clone paradox.
It would be interesting to know to which point does their little brain liquefy.
>>33239923
I assume if studies like these exist, we could probably consider it's still the same being with another body and not a new one.
>>
>>33239976

So someone says "that's okay" in relation of Flygon's typing, and you start sperging about SJWs out of nowhere. Seems fucking autistic to me.
>>
>>33239991
Yeah, well, obviously it's a nervous system, not complete goo. It would make little sense evolutionary for an insect to die before even becoming an adult. That species wouldn't survive very long.
>>
>>33240004
That's because you're likely autistic. Have you been tested?

>>
>>33239579
The amount of effort these and danger thses creatures must get through just to reach adulthood is amazing.
For example, molting is a really delicate process for a tarantula and it's not unusual that if they get too tired while doing it, something goes wrong and they die.

But what he was talking about isn't related to race or anything close to identity politics.
You've started a shitflinging where you're now desperately trying to get the last reply just because just you got triggered by one of the most common expressions. If you think "and that's okay" is only used on sjw circles obviously english is not your native tongue.
Hell, you probably wouldn't be this triggered if he hadn't written "okay" in all caps.
>>
>>33240100
You're right you can't. That's why you should get yourself tested. I know being a retard has a bit of a stigma attached to it but if you learn about yourself you can better specialize your lifestyle.

>>33240102
If you think "and that's okay" is only used
Not what I think, and in fact, not what I said. Maybe consider brushing up on your English skills before using 4chan?
>>
>>33240138
>Not what I think, and in fact, not what I said
Then what are you getting so triggered over an incredible common expression (yes, used even by "normies", constantly) if you agree it's not only used by sjw?
>brushing up on your English skills before using 4chan?
That's rich coming from a newfag who doesn't know how to greentext properly.
>>
>>33240138

>>
>>33240170
Because normal people don't talk like that. Trust me, I unfortunately work with people all day long. When was the last time you've heard someone say that? I guarantee your return if at all will be when someone was concerned how someone else felt. I've only heard SJWs used that term because normal people have enough shit going on in their lives to not give a fuck what other people think. Hence the backbone comment too.

>That's rich coming from a newfag
OH you sure got poor ol' me. What a powerful insult, pitting English skills vs. Being a newfag. Damn. It's a shame both topics are on the same totem pole because you sure got me. Well I'll sulk over being a newfag then and you can continue to get nowhere in life due to your lackluster English skills. (And also by extension your roasting skills, lol.)

All the time. To put an example, it's an expression as common as "well, shit".
>when someone was concerned how someone else felt
What the hell are you even talking about. That is a simple expression used in all kinds of conversations, it's not bound to conversations where someone can get their feelings hurt.

>that last passive aggressive rant
You know, you're pretty sensitive for someone who's on a hunt witch. I'm sorry I hurt your little feelings, anon.
>>
>>33240227

>When was the last time you've heard someone say that? I guarantee your return if at all will be when someone was concerned how someone else felt

Fair enough, but does the original Flygon post seem like they care about people's feelings? I interpreted as it it's okay for a Pokemon's typing to differ from its appearance. Which is why the SJW comment was completely uncalled for.
