Atsuko Nishida (designer of Pikachu and more) is also a freelancer now and she confirmed she will not stop to work with GameFreak. But Shigeru Ohmura said something like "If GameFreak wants to work with him and he wants it too, he will maybe work with them again". I hope he will design some Pokémon in the future.

I would rather have Sugimori than Ohmura, and I hope whoever the next artist for the series is can actually naturally continue from Sugimori's style.

Sugimori can design the Pokemon. Ohmura can design the trainers.

Every Gen we get more female designer. SM had 10 male and 10 female designer. Gen 8 will probably have like 8 male and 12 female.
