Why is Gen 2 the best competitive meta?

because you have to actually out play the other guy because everyone basically has the same team so its more focused on the player decisions.

Actually, there are at least two basic archetypes. The offensive team, which typically has Zapdos and a bunch of things that can explode, and the stall team, which typically has Raikou and a bunch of defensive support Pokémon.

Because, It was a time when people actually like batting their friends in Pokémon battles instead of getting pay for it or pretending to like Pokémon.

I lose all interest in Pokémon competitively after the 2nd generation of Pokémon.
