Personally, I'd be greatly disappointed if they made Gen 2 Alolans forms. Yeah, yeah, "underrepresented" and all that shit. I honestly never cared about them, as they are the single most boring group of starters. Instead of wasting time trying to fix shit, I'd rather GF polished the gold. The latter is far more attractive.

This was talked about when it was seen prior to SM's release. The Johto starters are catchable with Island Scan, so they already "exist" in Alola. I think what could likely happen is in the alt universe of USUM is that those "native but extremely rare" Johto starters picked up Alolan variants. It actually makes sense with what we've seen in-game and could easily become headcanon.

It makes waaaay more sense than the three getting Megas after Gen VII introduced ZERO new Megas into the game.
