Game Freak has lost sight of the development philosophy that

I just really miss the small stuff like the Bug Catching Contests and the puzzles in the Ruins of Alph. Decent dungeons that I might actually get turned around in. I mean, story is good and everything, and they should work on it, but it shouldn't be at the expense of content.

Yeah, I also hope they will re-introduce Puzzles. Make the games at least a bit challenging.

If you already have millions of dollars or more and are still actively creating you shouldn't be creating things you aren't passionate about. That aren't the best thing you can produce no matter what.

What's the point? As a published poet and writer, a composer, who no longer needs to work but is still a volunteer doing much of that for a game development company 8 or more hours a day you would not catch me dead doing less than the absolute best I think I could do and I don't make a dime off of this as implied by the "volunteer" bit.

If you already have so much money that you don't need to work then you either should step aside for someone who does or continue acting as if what you're doing matters.

You mean a butchered Kanto? Gym leaders that barely used any Gen 2 Pokémon? The awful level curve? Certain Pokémon like Larvitar and Houndour being unavailable until you beat the Champion? Hell no. I don't want any of those things to be in a Pokémon game ever again. Christ. Johtoddlers are the worst. They think GSC are the best games for being "comfy" while ignoring all of its other blatant flaws. SM may have had some significant flaws, but I'll take them over shitty Gen 2 any day of the week.

The execution isn't relevant in this conversation, only the design and intention. No matter how much you may dislike GS, it's objectively true that they were developed with the intention to be the last and ultimate Pokemon games and Game Freak tried their hardest.

If it wasn't for Iwata, Kanto could have never fitted into the game and GSC would have been left with one mediocre half-region. Instead, there are two mediocre half-regions with Kanto being a shell of its former self. GameFreak has been incompetent since Day 1.
