The problem there is it no longer has a Dragon STAB. Gen 7 actually removed the ability to give it its only, already mediocre, option of Dragon Pulse. As far as I know you can't get it on a gen 7 Sceptile at all. It's like they actually expect you to use Dual Chop.

So you're running, what, Protect/Leaf Storm/Giga Drain/Focus Blast? Even with Koko covering you it's just not that great.

The regular form is NU. If you want to use the regular form you could just play NU. It's one of the best mons in the tier.

Well, he will be eventually, and when he is I'm going to use him. I still might do that Endure guy anyway, though. Enduring while Koko discharges sounds like laughs, and a largely better version of Protect for this guy.

In doubles most Pokemon want to run Protect, particularly Pokemon that will draw a lot of enemy attention. Sceptile is a frail Pokemon with a 4x weakness to one of the best and most widely distributed attacking types when it's a Mega, and next to Tapu Koko will be very visibly a combo piece, so it's reasonable to expect lots of Ice, Dragon and Fairy attacks headed its way, among others. You can use Protect to block that, but you can also use Endure to survive it while still absorbing Koko's Discharges, steadily building strength. Then you get any lost health back with a big, boosted Giga Drain on a handy target.

In theory, anyway. Mega Sceptile has been iffy at best in practice, I doubt this spicy strat will change that, but it's worth a try.
