It's called PokéMMO. You take a Fire Red (or Leaf Green) ROM and play it online. I'd recommend Leaf Green, since more autist children play Fire Red. You get better Pokémon, technically.

Your options are PokeMMO, Pokemon Revolution Online, or literal garbage with less than 200 players and/or full of BR's

The only one I remember playing was PMD Universe and it was pretty cool. Then again that was years ago when it was only gen 1 - 4 Pokemon in it.

I used to play Pokémon Revolution Online (Far better than PokéMMO), not bad but they were too slow with their updates, pretty sure didn't even add megas yet. Also they make every decent Pokémon waaay too rare, so I got bored and left, but you could give it a try.

Oh and they strictly refuse to add breeding too, which makes getting a good Pokémon with decent stats nearly impossible, game has a lot of potential but doesn't reach it cause developers prefer to turn it into a grindfest.
