Honestly, when I see someone call him Satoshi on purpose if they usually call him Ash, it makes me take them less seriously. As meme-y as it sounds it makes that person sound like a tryhard "Japanese anime watching elitist" who thinks the only correct way of watching anime is in Japanese, raw/subbed, while wearing their Naruto headband. Again, a weeaboo because they want to sound "correct" when talking about anime even though they're more familiar with the English terms.

Like, I call Ash Ash, but for his friends I have the bad habit of using both their English and Japanese names. Usually I go by what I learned first, or I wind up hearing more often. Ash will always be Ash to me, I can easily enough shift gears now to Satoshi while watching an episode but never when discussing him. It's different for Mallow or Kaiwe, they're new characters who I learned the Jap names for first, so its easier to use their Jap names over English. In Kaiwe's case, 99% of the time I use Kaki just because its easier to spell, pronounce and remember.

In that same thought as my prior beliefs though, people who call him Satoshi also use English attack names at the same time, so wouldn't it be more proper to use the Japanese names when using attacks? If they're watching Ash as "Satoshi" then shouldn't the attacks be spoken about in Japanese rather then English? The Pokemon as well for that matter. Kind of a double standard or hypocrisy there.

The only one who is permanently English to me right now is Charizard because of who it is and how promoted its been. Stoutland Challenge? Filler. Z-Ring at the end does not justify or save it. Just like with the Raichu episode.

The only trail we've had is the Grass one. The battle with Wishiwashi and Alolan Marowak don't count as trials and side character development is inconsequential and unimportant.

Grass Trial counts since it was an actual trial and, most importantly, it was for Ash.

The Olivia Battle and Tapu Lele episodes haven't aired yet, so I wasn't counting those.
