Yeah, there was really no reason to remove presets, but what I hate more is the fact that in SM you can only change at apparel stores. Why? Now instead of going to a nearby pokemon center to change, I have to fly to a city with an apparel store and change there.

My point is that kanto/gen 1 already gets a lot fanservice in the main games, sometimes being blatantly shoehorned such as with the postgame legendary birds in XY.

Here a few examples:

SM
* All alola forms being gen 1 pokemon
* Red and blue appering at the battle tree
* A lot of kanto pokemon getting exclusive z moves (Snorelax, mew, pikachu x2, raichu, eevee)
* Nugget bridge
* A lot of references to kanto within the game (Samson oak, lillie going to kanto at the end, the protag being from kanto)

XY
* The snorelax on the bridge
* The 2nd kanto starters /w megas
* Charizard and mewtwo getting 2 megas
* Mewtwo post-game
* Romeing legendary birds post-game
* Most of the megas were given to gen 1 pokemon
* Santalune Forest being a remake of the Viridian Forest

While some of these may be nitpicks, kanto still gets quite a lot of fanservice, and more so than other regions.

Reminder that XY customization is better than SM's, at least if you pick the girl. XY has a mix of outfits for different climates, where SM is all just tropical tank top bullshit. Also SM's glasses are way too big.
