Pokemon only you hate

Gyarados is perfect and one of the first examples I bring up when I explain to people why I think Gen 1 still has the best Pokémon designs

He's a sea monster, and very accessible early in most Pokemon games. Something needs to be scary in the water.

Gyarados has aspects of Magikarp
>crest/fins
>mouth
>whiskers
and Gyarados' segmented body is a far cry from Dratini and Dragonair's smooth serpentine body

whereas Venonat and Butterfree completely share characterestics while Venomoth also completely shares characteristics with Caterpie and Metapod. It's not a similar case.

I fucking hate this thing. It's a shitty concept and even worse design. It makes me happy knowing it will never have plot relevance in any game and will never get a spot on a version cover. Underdeveloped -> Developed is a logical thing to have with evolution. Golbat gains eyes and feet, which Zubat did not have. Then Crobat regresses the design by closing the mouth and removing the feet. Crobat is a failure of a design.
