Cool Tidbits

Probably not as unknown, but Vlefairy was originally meant to be the Pikachu of the franchise.

There were going to originally be 190 pokemon, some pokemon that were taken out include:
- The gen 2 legendaries
- The Tyranitar line
- The baby pokemon

There is tons of info that Masuda and others have given on exclusive European interviews in magazines and conventions that have never been translated to English, so the internet never knew about them.
For example

My favorite is Bagons location in Sun and Moon.

He can be found on top of route 3 and at the bottom of Kala'e bay. He was jumping off trying to fly.

Awesome play on his dex entry.

The word "Version" hasn't been used in a Pokemon title since BW2

Funnily enough there's actually some contention about Ho-oh being planned to be in RGBY, even though that's one of the first Pokemon anyone would think of thanks to the anime. There's a claim that Morimoto specifically denied how Ho-oh was one of the Pokemon removed from the games, while also re-confirming that some Pokemon were cut. Who knows if it's a rumor, a mis-communication/translation, or really the truth, though. Maybe Ho-oh was the original Lucario.

The Members Card was an item that let you acess the Harbor Inn in Canalave City so you could go to New Moon Island in Platinum,

It's description states that "Oddly, the last date marked on it was 50 years ago"
On the official artwork, it is labeled 1958.12.1, which is exactly 50 years to the day the item was distributed in, December 1st 2009

ORAS takes place in Hoenn, which is inspired by Kyushu.

Gastrodon's forms are relative to Sinnoh, which is inspired by Hokkaido.

Hokkaido is east of Kyushu so Hoenn should have West Sea Gastrodon and Shellos, but it doesn't for version exclusive purposes.

It's good to see Game Freak decided to make Gens VI and VII consistent with the Gastrodon forms. Anything that is considered east of Hokkaido will have East Sea. Anything that is considered west will have West Sea.
