Both Quirky+(+) and Eject+ are unreliable and usually shit you should only use when desperate. Psychic's Mega Boosters are theoretically farmable though their stages are cancer. Salamence can boost itself and was farmable, but takes three icons more.

In the end, Salamence wins over Mewtwo because you can't accidentally select the wrong mega and waste your run.

Nah, the requirement is always rounded down. It's just that some newer stages have been having a 60% moves/time left requirement for S-ranks, for whatever reason. What megas would you recommend? Aerodactyl seems to work poorly since it can't do anything about barriers. Ampharos does okay when it decides to hit the disruptions. Lucario might work but he rarely seems to start any combos. This'd probably be a lot easier if I had mega Tyranitar.

If you don't have access to tappers then you might have to use a MS on Garchomp or Fug if you have it. Lucario isn't too combo friendly so don't bother. The aim is to finish Ho-oh off before DD ends so you only have to worry about the initial barriers and blocks which means APU is required as well.
Ideally you go with M-Garchomp/Fug, your best 3 SE mons which may include a BB/BS+ mon, with MS/DD/AP, optional +5 and enough for 2-3 gbs. Also, use shufflemove like the previous guy suggested.

Technically, if you spent every heart on Meowth from now till the last minute of Ho-oh you'd be able to do an item run. Whether you're willing to do that or not is up to you.
However, I have another piece of advice regarding shuffle in general which is to completely ignore main stages from now on and concentrate on Meowth farming and SP stages. Suicune/Hoopa-C and Goodra are coming soon and they are mons that a relatively newer player could really use so you'll need to have coins on hand to beat and catch them. SP stages are where most of the good stuff are at.

It varies, some mons take only a couple of months while some take huge amounts of time to reappear. For example Beedril hasn't been around for 10 months or so (Since early October from last year) which is also the only time so far the Beedrillite has been given out. I did. Used a 8hr DRI and farmed Entei, Ho-oh and Hitmonlee with the 30 hearts a week ago. Only just reached SL5 for Shot Out a few hours ago though. Not sure if I'm gonna regret this decision.

Beat Kyurem 200 with M-Houndoom, Emboar, Ho-Oh and Heatran, used MS, AP+ and T+10. Had to buy those items twice though, just barely failed the first time. I think I'll continue the climb since I've done my competition run and still have over 70k. The normal stages in between boss stages are getting tougher, but I started using Zard Y as my mega and that made me stop failing them. I'll probably go until I hit a boss stage that requires all items.

Holy shit, Shot Out is legit. Just did 150 itemless with a Diancie/lv7 SL5 Hitmonlee/Machamp/Regirock team which may not be that impressive but I suck at timed stages. Definitely gonna grind Vanilluxe if I ever have spare hearts.

Does anyone here feel that RMLs have lost some value with the demise of SM? I mean levels are great, especially with the 14 to 15 or 19 to 20 attack spike but ultimately, skill levels are the most important and the exp injection from SM is gone.
I'd convert some of my MSUs or RMLs to cookies if I could because comps don't give any and the EBs have been really stingy with them as well. Also, this fucker never drops more than 1.

Depends on the mon and the skill, ambiguous, I know so let me put some examples from the past:

Which ability is recommended for Machamp? I've been okay with Eject, but seeing as though people have SL4-5 champs, is Risk-Taker really worth it?

It only does up to 7.5× damage on SL5, 4.16× on average. Which makes it one of the most damaging skills in the game.

Plain Eject, without one or two +, hardly ever makes a difference, though there are no Fighting-mons with these skills. Hitmonlee can be an alternative if swapped to Shot Out, though that ability is more of a roundabout way to deal damage.

To play the devil's advocate, half of you've stated doesn't really affect casuals and if you're a long time player it can still be done without spending money. Tapu Koko isn't worth catching if you don't have the coins so that can be ignored, EBs are usually relatively cheap up to 150 with APU being the maximum investment and mons with really good skills can be cookied over time if you don't wanna PSB farm them. If anything, GS might be trying to close the gulf between casuals and hardcore players by just the slightest fraction.
However, the SM nerf sucked for the hardcore players and having C-1 in comps is actually fucking bullshit. I'm might not even bother with a full item run this time.

No. He deserves Top due to the fact that an incredibly majority of the main stages and special stages require him. He may have fallen out of use in competitions but that doesn't knock him down a peg at all, especially after he got +5 RML.

i don't think moving Camerupt/ Salamence into a lower tier is a good move. Camerupt since hes one of the few Ground type megas, and a tapper at that, and Salamence is an all around good choice of investment for either stages or weekend Meowth.
Hera and Diancie is more of a Mid - High now, might make a new tier.
Steelix i'm not to sure about; i'd probably have to move alakazam as well if he moves up

this is more of a Priority tier list anyways, as in which Megas you should invest in first. i think an actual tier list would defer. not by much in the upper echelon, perhaps.

i think as an investment choice he probably would fall a lower tier. he's undoubtedly a good Mega, but there is a good case of him not being that high of a priority. perhaps a tier lower.

I think it'd be easier to divide these into "need to have", "nice to have" and "everything else/too many candies."

For example, candied Beedrill is a must have, because you can use it on a wide variety of stages which gives it a great degree of flexibility and usage. Meanwhile, candied Tyranitar would be only nice to have, because its relatively slow evolve speed keeps it away from most neutral stages. And for the neutral stages you will use it on (competitions) you'll generally use a Mega Start, making the candies irrelevant.

This start of the month challenge seems kind of lame and unfair. I just played it and got Squirtle, which gave me 5000 coins. A free 5000 coins is nice, but the fact that other players got 3 MSUs for no reason other than blind luck sucks. Though, I guess, this is Shuffle.

I just spent all items (yes, even c-1) on tapu koko, it busted out of a 37% pokeball then a 74% great ball, had to use a second great ball to get the catch. All for a shitmon. Today has been a horrible day for shuffling. Now I'm about to try Kyurem 250 to continue my shuffering.

It's only a 300 stage EB, I don't think I saw any posts discussing boss stages after 150 here. Just beat 250, took three tries of buying T+10, AP and MS with a M-Houndoom team. I'm at 42k coins and am done with this EB since the next two boss stages are the exact same, just with 15k hp added on each time. My Ho-Oh's only level 10 and both it and Heatran don't have their skill maxed so I think Kyurem's beaten me again. 3 RML for 250 was a really nice prize though, helluva lot better than most competitions give me. If I was skilled/lucky enough to pull it off the first try, it would've been quite the steal.
