A member of a town watch, I found a Sentret in a village commonly besieged by bandits. I noticed he had keen eyesight and would sense trouble long before it was too late, but would always run away from it afterward, too scared to face it. I managed to rile the residents up, and this Sentret got so riled up that it wanted to join me. We took the fight to the bandits and made sure they wouldn’t be a problem again. With watchmen in far fewer demand as a result, I named him Seens and the Sentret joined me on my journey. Later on, he sensed an ambush by thugs that would’ve caught me off guard otherwise. Overcoming his fear to stand his ground and protect me, he evolved while retaliating. I’d probably be dead if he wasn’t around to sense danger like that.
>Beaucade(Roserade)[78]
After defeating my first gym, I was ambushed by a phantom thief who wore a mask. She stole my badge and fled, likely stealing badges from challengers instead of the gym guarded by its leader. I gave chase, then she challenged me to battle for the badge when I caught up to her. With only a Chinchou, I didn’t stand a chance, forcing me to rebattle the Gym Leader. But his only resulted in me getting stronger. This happened several times following Gyms, but it wasn’t consistent enough for me to predict in advance. With Seens, I was able to sense her coming and protect my badge, then defeat her afterwards. I was the only one who knew how she battled so well, so after recovering my badges, I offered her a spot on my team, sensing her strength. She accepted this to better her style and perhaps learn more about me, as well.

In a big city, construction forced a detour through the slums. There I found a group of Pansear and Simisear getting laughed at and picked on. From their shoddy box, a Chimchar stepped out and stood up for them, fighting those who mocked them. He held his own very well, but I came to his assistance. Meeting him showed me not all species are treated equal. Admiring him, I stayed around and helped. I got them out of there and brought them elsewhere for a fresh start. Things got better and while they were not popular, the family’s lifestyle improved. They let the Chimchar travel with me, wanting him to see if inequality existed elsewhere and to work on his attitude. I named him Sun and we left. He can’t help standing up for less fortunate folks, and all that fighting’s made him my strongest, but his big muscles are matched only by his bigger heart.

I was low on cash and found a tournament where you could bet. There, a Tyrogue had one of the worst odds, despite apparently being bred for this. I decided I would make the most if I bet on him and bet enough money to be a sponsor and train him. He had amazing stats, but only wanted to use Tackle. I decided to work with it and brought a Metronome with me. Most opponents would laugh off his Tackle and let him tire, but they would get stronger thanks to the Metronome, and by the time they noticed, it was too late. It was predictable and the champ had us on the ropes, but then Tyrogue evolved into Hitmonlee and his fighting style changed completely, surprising the champ in underdog fashion. I won and beat the house, and according to plan, I forced the fighting ring out of business and never needed money for the journey again. The only way Hitmonlee could use the money he won is by following me, so I named him Podos we left. He was behind the curve due to so many losses before I met him, but his good stats help even things out.

My pet for as long as I could remember. My parents found her on their honeymoon being used by some crude sailors to power their ship. I can’t stand for people treating pokemon like crap and I probably got that from my parents, since they got her out of there sharing similar sentiments. She served as both a pet fish and a night light and I would always feed her before I went to bed. I’ve never known life without her, so when I set out on my journey, she had to come along. She’s proven more useful than I could have imagined. When the opponent isn’t fully evolved like her, she does considerably well, and even then, she can put a dent in some of the biggest and baddest. I never knew I had such a badass watching over me since I was a baby. I plan on putting her back in her old tank whenever I get back home, so she’s staying the way I’ve always known her: a Chinchou.
>Stan(Ivysaur)[77]
I went to a carnival and one of the acts was a series of mysteriously bipedal pokemon. Among them was an Ivysaur with a small bulb, who was laughed at along with the rest by the crowd. Sun couldn’t stand it and dragged me backstage to find the Ivysaur. It would seem the Ivysaur had nowhere else to go, and likely thought he was doing his job well by causing smiles and laughter, ignoring his own pain as a result. I snuck the Ivysaur out and took him with me. He likes standing on two legs, and once his nutrition improved after joining me, the now normally sized bulb became a training weight of sorts. His bipedal fighting style with the form of a performer always catches opponents off guard, even those who have fought his species before, so I saw merit in keeping him an Ivysaur. He’s learned a decent amount of tricks from Beaucade and once in a while, I see him teach her something instead. He’ll probably be an Iyysaur forever and it seems we’re all okay with that.

>Politoed(82)-caught as a Poliwag while I was a young boy in a fishing contest in Johto. Has stuck by me ever since . Evolved when I gave her a weird rock and traded my friend so he could get a poliwrath. She acts childish and doesn't always listen, but she has my back. Likes to munch on chesto berries
>M. Lopunny(66)- was given to me by some crazed professor who is obsessed with mega evolution. He wanted me to bond with her to achieve it....In the heat of battle she remains calm and steady
>Lucario(82)- ran up to me in the forest because it felt my aura. Took him along...Has weird tendencies but will fight if not distracted
>Gothita(80)- found at an overcrowded daycare. Was left by a previous trainer holding an everstone, I took her off their hands recently. Doesn't want to evolve and tends to sit by herself. Politoed tries to be friendly, but it will take time. Doesn't have much battle experience

>Backstory:
Veronica was born and raised in Alola but moved to the Kalos region to stay with relatives after her father died sacrificing himself to save her from a triggered Toucannon when she was 10. The Toucannon used beak blast after she kept poking it in the eye and her father managed to push her out of harm's way in the nick of time. He took the brunt of the blast but Veronica didn't escape unscathed and has a scar from shrapnel spray on her face. She has autism but none of the doctors were able to diagnose it until she came to Kalos and by that time therapy wasn't very useful. She moved in with her grandmother and neckbeard uncle. Her uncle tongue punched her fartbox after she walked in on him doing the 5 knuckle shuffle to his favorite cartoon pornos. This traumatizing event led her to want to get away from the house and her uncle. The very next day, she stole all of the good food from the fridge, packed some clothes, and left her home to start her pokemon adventure. Her mother was baffled as to why her daughter left so suddenly but never received a straight anwser. Veronica is now a chronic masterbaiter as she secretly enjoyed her molestation. She gets crushes on lots of boys but can't talk to them normally because of the tism. She takes out her sexual frustration on her pokemon with her favorite being Riolu. She wants to become pokemon champion because she thinks it'll make people like her. She also has Heterochromia.
