I totally agree, Rhyhorn was the best part of the line and it got worse as it evolved each time.

As for mine, Ivysaur. Bulbasaur is fine, Ivysaur looked awesome, but Venusaur turned out so lethargic and slobby. The only time I've ever picked Bulbasaur was for Red/Blue runs since Venusaur looked fine there having not followed its real/official appearance.

I agree. Flygon is leagues ahead of trap inch and vibrant to me. That whole line is a mess honestly.

Fuck, came here to say the same.

I love the sharp, intimidating look of Nidorino, and the fact it's very squat and quedrepedal and keeps its rhino look. I didn't like the pink colouring when I was younger but I think it's pretty unique now and reminds me of retro dinosaur toys. And more recently they have been depicting it as a desaturated purple. I like the variations between the old bright pink, the new purple, and the blue shiny. It almost pulls a feraligatr with the color changes.

I also think the patterning on Nidorino is great, with that semi random mottling. It looks really great and natural. A few gen 1 Pokemon did this, like the Bulbasaur line, Victreebel, Vileplume, etc. Most newer Pokemon have their patterning very geometric and purposefully placed.

All and all, it's a great bro mon. Medium in size, varied move pool, available early on in a lot of games, fun abilities, the possibility of evolving with a moon stone later on, and decently powerful.

As much as people spam the "it just gets bigger" meme when insulting evolutions, imagine if Rhyhorn continued down the quadriped line. It evolves into this massive dinosaur-like beast, maybe gets a tail as well, all the intricate armor-like scales that rhyhorn has are lost in its rhydon evolution and the Gen 4 cross-gen evo just makes it look like it at a Golem.

Sneasel's cross-gen evo completely killed it. Sneasels are supposed to be fast and sneaky, giving it a stupid looking crown and making it fatter completely kills the vibe. I wouldn't mind a sneasel evolution if it remained as slender and mischievous looking as its prevo, maybe giving it an Anubus kind of vibe albeit less human-like (Lucario was a mistake).
