I haven't played SM yet, but this happened to me during XY and ORAS. No clue what could be causing it

Because you don't have any autonomy and are essentially walking through a corridor of easy trainer battles and poorly written dialogue

Every key item in the game is handed to you, it's almost impossible not to have an ingame team that demolishes everything and there is no post-game to keep you interested after the main story

The Pokemon games have never been easy but at least in older gens you had to take some fucking initiative

Some times, I'd play XY just to get myself drowsy around 1AM, which would work.

Same with SM though and I barely have to try. Some times, I'm not sure if it's not the music or how slow everything plays out.

The cutscenes in SM barely gave me any motivation to keep going. I liked it more when it was just me trying to discover towns without feeling myself like I'm being dragged into it.

No, but this does happen to me with all of the Mystery Dungeon games. They knock me right out and I've never been able to complete one because of it.

SM lacks a decent post game. Catching Ultra Beast is XY post game-tier story and you can just leave it behind.
Battle Tree is reused battle facility and I barely played it because of fucked up RNG and almost dying 3DS if you are playing 2v2 battles (the amount of frames is just stunning and not in a good way).
Also, SM even managed to fuck up Shiny hunting. Chains that rerolls themselves after 255 encounter and getting Shiny (for example) after 10 Eggs and then 2600 is simply unfair. I hope USUM will do something with these issues.
But we already know how it will be.
