Why are these two the only anime girls to look significantly

Gamefreak has been making the protagonists and rivals older since Gen V, but the anime insists on everyone being 10.

Hell, the anime characters were always younger, since the Gen 1-4 protagonists were 11 or 12.

The Gen 6 protagonists are canonically 11, and Lillie is around that age too, but she's taller than them and even Gladion

While in the anime, she's shorter than Gladion and about an exact match for Ash

Same applies to Lillie. Aged down to 10, while she's 11 in the games. That, and the SM anime has a really shit sakuga, so she looks even younger.

The games are made for an all ages international audience. The anime is made for Japanese children so both Ash and the lead girl are made short for boys and girls to project themselves onto.
