Also starters are supposed to be representative of their region. One of the reasons why Incineroar is so bad is because it fails to represent Alola/Hawaii.

Sinnoh had myth-based starters representing the mythological theme of the region, Kalos had rpg-ish starters representing the old history of Kalos, Johto had all single typed starters representing the purity of nature and the simplistic lifestyle of the region. That's why people were expecting things like a circus theme for the Alolan starters. The region is obviously supposed to be a fun and surprising departure from the usual pokemon formula, and what better way to represent Alola's eccentric nature than a circus? While the other starters somewhat retain at least a tiny bit of that theme (Decidueye is an archer and Primarina is still a seal who plays with balloons) Incineroar doesn't. It isn't the strongman or the ringmaster, it's just a wrestler.

Incineroar doesn't make sense though, and I'm saying this as someone who likes its concept just not its relation to the evo line or starter trio. A cat with a bell doesn't become a wrestler all of a sudden, it just doesn't make any sense. And of course the "JUST BIGGER" evolutions are shit, I never once advocated for such a thing. Primarina isn't just a bigger version of Brionne, for example, and still retains its connection to it while also being a visually interesting design. To me it's more about mastering a method of attacking, or even a profession:
Rowlet and Dartrix use their leaves like throwing knives, Decidueye uses them as arrows.
Popplio and Brionne attack with/control bubbles through acrobatics and dancing respectively, Primarina uses its voice to do so.
Litten really doesn't have an equivalent of this or anything that says "wrestler".

I think I'd rather a simple design that I know can be easily well executed (and I mean a actual attempt from Game Freak, not these fan made attempts) than a complex design/concept that had potential but never actually fulfills it entirely.

The belt is shit too, the fire piss is eye grating and it should've been more of a fire burst that goes around him (thus explaining the charred look in his torso) than a fucking fire jet which he can only perform by fucking THRUSTING himself every single time.
