Stop trying to deny Water is broken. The fact most people by in large believe it's broken, and the fact it makes Ice even more useless than it is, and its weaknesses are easy to take out with common moves it learns, and it burns better than Fire, make it broken.

Next time you want someone to not think about nerfing water, make a point instead of insults.
2 weaknesses it can easily take care of, 4 resistances, 3 types its good against, and all the types that resist it, it can just use Ice Beam/Thunderbolt on.

Honestly I think buffing the things Water doesn't like is a better idea. Improving Grass' presence, giving Ice-types widespread Freeze Dry, and making Ice-types Dragonkillers rather than Fairy might be a better idea rather than tweaking Water's type advantages. Nerfing Scald would be good as well. In this way you can indirectly nerf Water-types without messing with their resistances/weaknesses or using stupidly restricting ideas like removing Ice-type moves from their movepool.

Honestly this makes more sense than it being SE to fairy and it always should have been SE against water. Even muk's pokedex entry mentions that a drop of its sludg can contaminate a body of water.

That would have worked a few gens ago, but Ice is too weak to be threatening, and Grass is slowly heading that way as well. And if you buff Ice, you are still limiting grass in a way too, and than bringing it back to Water still being overpowered. It needs another weakness, whether Poison, or a future new type that also makes logical sense. Just buffing old types, while welcome, is just prolonging what inevitably needs to happen.

Make Ice deal normal damage to Grass as well. After all, most plants(even some palm trees) have at least some resistance to cold. Besides, this makes Water powerless against Grass.

Make Grass-types resist Fairy and deal SE damage to them too. You could also make Electric-types hit Steels super effectively due to how overbearing they are.

Dunno. Making Psychic SE against Fairy is more appealing to me. Grass and Bug should merely resist it. I like the idea of having Electric be SE against Steel, though.

Poison's already an amazing defensive typing, especially when you pair it with another typing that can actually do damage. If you try to buff poison too much as an offensive typing, you'd outright break it. Hell, I think this generation has like 5 or 6 poison types in OU.

Arbok is now Poison/Dark with Sucker Punch stab and only 1 weakness. Is she OU now?
