Though you're right in that it hasn't been done before, but we had new forms and mega evolutions that basically work like "new pokemon" introduced in later games within a generation (rotom, kyurem and dschinn forms in gen 5, Shaymin sky form in gen 4, new megas in oras/gen 6).

No Battle Frontier, no buy. Battle Frontier is all that makes these games worthwhile, which is why they've been pure shit since X/Y.

While I'm skeptical of these so-called "leaks," there's still no concrete evidence as to the quoted text either. GF seems to have a hard on for introducing new forme changing methods for "trio masters" nowadays, so it is possible that the two new Ultra Sun and Moon mascots are of Necrozma's own design. Fusion has already been done. This is all speculation, though.

I'm not saying this leak is real by any stretch, BUT I do think we'll see another Necrozma form beyond what we have now, gonna repost from a deepestlore thread:

So in Alchemy, there are 4 steps to create the Magnum Opus, or philosophers stone which could represent Necrozma, or what he's trying to do

Nigredo - Blackness, "the dark night of the soul, when an individual confronts the shadow within"

Albedo - Whiteness, the washing away of impurities

Citrinitas - Yellowness, transmutation of silver into gold, stood for the dawning of the "solar light" inherent in one's being, and that the reflective "lunar or soul light" was no longer necessary

If GF had new Pokemon in store they would start the promotion way earlier.

They will have some Alola forms, but not crazy amount. Like 15-20 so it will be enough for 4-5 news updates. New mythical is a possibility but they wouldnt reveal it this early since they always keep those for movies.

Regular Pokemon or UBs wont happen. GF barely touched SMs UBs, basically just Nihilego. Rest of them was just grouped together in a post game side mission. USUM needs to develop the existing ones into the story instead of introducing anything new
