ITT Pokemon that would actually fit in gen 1.
Yes or no?
>Regice used Amnesia!
>Regice used Blizzard!

Disagree with OP image, actually. Too complex for gen 1, compare with Fearow.
>>33104267
I think yes
>>33104267
too detailed, too many features
>>33104276
maybe but gen 1 didn't have those color separations, change the yellow to brown and simplify the face.
>>33104273
Would fit.
>>33104224
Too American
Most of gen 2, right? Didn't Gen 2 have actual Gen 1 rejects?
>>33104294
>simplify the face
The fuck? It's the opposite, the face is too simple for gen 1. Mouth is literally an oval with zigzags, gen 1 would have detailed fangs.
>>33104276
>>33104281
The only difference is the number of colors. Fearow's layered, detailed feathers are just as complex, if not more so.
>>33104447
Why is the old art style so much fucking better?
>>33104472
Nope, too much going on. Gen 1 faces were very simple and did not have much personality.
>>33104267
More like Gen 5 with pokemon like Zoroark
>>33104504
You sure you're looking at gen 1 fearow, or the modern redesign?
>1 color throughout
>no detail on face, no detail on tail
>beak is flat, simple
>eyes are literal dots
>overall shape is that of a real bird, no fantasy details
>>33104512
What are you smoking? Gen 1 had much more detailed facial anatomy. Features had depth rather than just plastered on a flat surface.
>>33104470
Yeah. Cubchoo was actually supposed to be a Gen II mon, by the way. They scrapped it because they wanted to animate its cold snot in a future game.
>>33104541
It depends what you mean. Maybe we are miss-communicating. Gen 1 had more animal-like designs, but they were simple in that there was no unnecessary detail and they did not convey any emotion. Yungoos is simple line art, but there's a lot going on there that you would not see in gen 1. It looks like it has an actual human face, a cartoon human but a human nonetheless.
>>33104550
Nope. If it was gen 1 his muzzle wouldn't look glued on, and his mouth wouldn't look like it was drawn on with a pencil. Eyes would be different but I didn't change it.
>>33104571
Its face isn't anymore "human" than meowth or pikachu. It just has some simplistic pudding hair that would look rougher in gen 1. And again it would have a detailed mouth rather than just a sticker.
>>33104636
Another good example. Notice how the mouth is just a line, absence of eyebrows, no indication of emotion, nose is the same color, etc. Very plain and simple.
>>33104276
>that sticker mouth
lol fuck no
>>33104741
>mouth is just a line
It's a whole muzzle. It's two complex shapes put together, not just a cone with a single-curved line penciled on like Popplio, or a circle with a mouth pasted on like Yungoos. It's much less geometric than post gen 1 designs.
>absence of eyebrows, no indication of emotion
What the fuck are you talking about? Yungoos doesn't have brows, just hair covering its eyes on the same diagonal as Growlithe's eyelids. It displays the same amount of emotion.
>>33104552
False. Gen 2 was supposed to be the end originally but due to success they kept pushing
>>33104598
>>33104636
Point and counter-point, growlithe's muzzle looks glued on
>>33104598
>his
>>33104224
Braviary looks like a gen 4 mon
Mouth might be a bit too complex
>>33104294
>lycanroc
>too many features
have you seen rhyhorn, gyarados or nidoking?
>>33104552
Source? Sounds like bullshit.
>>33105248
It's not false. They decided Cubchoo's design wouldn't work in a game with static sprites and so they didn't use it at first.
Ending the series has nothing to do with what he said
