Is getting into competitive worth it?

Just don't use OU.
>>33101207
not anymore
It can be fun enough when you learn how to use eccentric mons, but there's a very, very steep learning curve.
My advice: don't be afraid to be low-ladder and mess up a lot. That's fun too!
Only if you suck at literally every other meta that requires thought.

Why did GF stop doing this?

/vp/ is notoriously bad at competitive so don't listen to the retards here.
>>33101207
competetive hasn't been fun since gen 5.
but at times it can be rewarding and even challenging if you're a karenfag/grimsleyfag

Get the hell out of here with your normalfag crap.

No. it's pointless and boring

No
Both states are pretty fucked.
OU/singles is a glorified game of rock paper scissors, and thanks to team preview 70% of matches you can predict a win or loss right out the door.
VGC should be the better format because doubles are just naturally more flexible and allow more team strategies, but thanks to the asinine rules of VGC (legendary allowances, crippled pokemon and movepools most of the time) it always winds up sucking year after year.
I almost exclusively play doubles battle tower/tree, it definitely isn't the same as fighting another player but team preview not being a thing makes every battle more interesting.
After playing doubles for so long, playing singles feels so braindead. I really want them to let us play doubles in game soon, especially worth the advent of z-moves completely crippling single battles in game.
